Trout Lake Day in Three Parts.

Morning

First shadows roll out.

Firs and pines stretch to blue sky.

Scrub jays holler & feast.

Yakama Nation

Tribe welcomes neighbors.

Its meadows’ beauty beckons.

Bugs say, Not so fast.

Night

Kitchen back in place.

Games stored and champs crowned.

Stars fill hot tub sky.

Perfect Day in Bird Creek Meadows

Beautiful day in Bird Creek Meadows. Dale sacrificed his vehicle on the rough road that gets people to the trailhead on the Yakama Reservation. He and his dog joined me for terrific hike through the woods, along the meadows, over several creeks, above huge lava flows, and looking out to 100-mile views.

I posted more photos on flickr.
